Hello. I'm Bryan.
My adventures into the world of birds began when I found a small pair of binoculars on an old stump while out hiking. Soon afterwards, I attended monthly meetings, joined bird walks and participated in Christmas bird counts with the Audubon Society. My first guide book, A Field Guide to Western Birds by Roger Tory Peterson, not only honed my observations, it introduced me to bird art. One day I started sketching and as my passion grew, I decided to enroll in an art class for the first time at my local community college. Over the next couple of years I took more art classes in drawing, painting and printmaking. Through the art program, I studied graphic design and earned a 2-year certificate.
I love being outdoors and always take my binoculars with me. I am always collecting feathers, nests, rocks, seeds, sticks, shells, flowers, bones, leaves and imagination. I can easily pass the afternoon drawing and wandering around. I have been a beekeeper of honey bees and native bees for 15 years.
Thanks for checking out my website.
